In 2024, in reservoirs 16.6 thousand tonnes of fish were caught, of which commercial catch of fish accounted for 60.2% (10 thousand tonnes).
In artificial reservoirs fish farming organisations caught 9.5 thousand tonnes of fish (94.6% of total commercial catch of fish), in natural reservoirs – 0.5 thousand tonnes (5.4%). Carp accounts for almost 70% of the fish catch in artificial reservoirs.
In 2024, 6573.9 tonnes of carp were caught. Of other fish species, the commercial catch of silver carp in artificial reservoirs was 740.7 tonnes, of salmonids 520.1 tonnes, of grass carp 296.1 tonnes, of sturgeon fishes 39.2 tonnes, and of sheatfishes 25.4 tonnes. Organisations of Minsk and Brest regions are the leaders in the commercial catch of fish (3753 tonnes and 3612.8 tonnes correspondingly), their share in the national commercial catch of fish is 73.6%.
In 2024, organisations engaged in fish farming activity sold 8.2 thousand tonnes of fish, with 3.2 thousand tonnes of fish sold to the workers and population (39.2% of total sales), 2.2 thousand tones (26.5%) sold to trading organisations, and 1.9 thousand tones (23.2%) sent for processing.
