As part of Belarus' fourth cycle of universal periodic review, our country is represented at the event in Geneva by a delegation comprising the Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, the National Statistical Committee, MFA, Ministries of Information, Justice, Labour and Social Protection.

Inna Konoshonok, Head of the Living Standards Statistics and Household Surveys Department of the Belstat, noted that Belarusian statistics is a powerful and objective tool for monitoring real changes in people’s lives.
"Qualitative, timely and reliable data on all aspects of life of society and economy is necessary for planning and analysis of implementation of public policies and programs, making informed decisions at all levels - from the Government to the individual.
Belarus demonstrates success in achieving the SDGs, which means progress in the implementation of human rights. In Belarus, the literacy rate of the population aged 15 and over is 100%.
Our country is among the countries of the world that have reached the target for women in decision-making. In the first Parliament, women made up only 14% of the deputies, whereas today they make up almost 33%.
As part of the implementation of Agenda 2030, Belarus has achieved gender parity in the representation of women in decision-making positions: 49.6% are female leaders.
Today, the majority of Belarusian families (88.5%) consider themselves to be in the middle and upper middle class. Evaluating their lives as a whole, more than 93% of households in the republic state that they are satisfied with their lives."
The culture of respect for women is also growing in Belarusian society.
Inna Konoshonok: "Data from a sample survey on domestic violence conducted by the state statistics services in 2024 shows that measures aimed at preventing various forms of violence work effectively, and today domestic violence is characterized by low risk for women.
Thus, the proportion of women aged 18-69 who were physically or sexually abused by their partner in the last 12 months was 1% (physical abuse - 0.9%, sexual abuse - 0.2%, physical and/or sexual abuse - 1%). In addition, Belarus is the first country in the EECCA region that has studied violence through technologies within the framework of a survey", - noted the Head of the Living Standards Statistics and Household Surveys Department of the Belstat.
