Press release "Main economic indicators of small and medium business entities in the Republic of Belarus in 2024"
As at 1 January 2025, 237.3 thsd individual entrepreneurs and 128.9 thsd small and medium business organisations, of which 115.4 thsd micro-organisations (89% of the total number of small and medium business organisations), 11.4 thsd small organisations (9%) and 2.1 thsd medium-sized organisations (2%), operated in the Republic of Belarus.
The predominant economic activities in the small and medium business sector in 2024 were as follows:
- Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (35% of the total number of small and medium business organisations and individual entrepreneurs);
- Transportation, storage, postal and courier activities (13%);
- Professional, scientific and technical activities (8%);
- Industry (8%);
- Construction (8%).
The revenue from sales of products, goods, works and services of small and medium business entities in 2024 was BYN 309 bn, which was 46.5% of the total country’s revenue.
The contribution of the small and medium business entities in the GDP for 2024 was 27.4%, of which 17.7% by micro and small organisations, 7.6% by medium-sized organisations and 2.1% by individual entrepreneurs.
