The book presents statistical data describing the development of culture in the Republic of Belarus.

The information in the book has been prepared on the basis of the data of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus as well as Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus and Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.

The statistical book provides information that, according to the recommendations of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, presents culture as a complex of related industries, activities and practices grouped in the following way: cultural and natural heritage; performing art; books and print media; tourism; physical training, sports and leisure; education in the cultural sector. Data for main indicators are broken down by regions and Minsk City. A separate section is dedicated to the CIS data.

Selected statistical indicators are furnished with methodological notes.
