2.1. Main socio-economic indicators of the Republic of Belarus

The statistical bulletin has been published by the Minstat since 1995 and contains time series of main socio-economic indicators for the country. Presented are data on the number of population, births, deaths, employment and officially registered unemployment, money incomes of population, nominal and real average monthly wages and salaries, and average pensions.

There is information on the development of major branches of the economy, i.e. industry, agriculture, construction, transport and communications. There are data on trade, prices and tariffs, finance, and foreign economic activity.

The most important indicators for the Republic of Belarus are shown in comparison with CIS countries.

The time series are presented since 1990; data for 2007 and 2008 are given in dynamics for each month.

The bulletin is published in Russian and English.
